Religious Education
Adult Faith Formation
At the heart of our Catholic faith is a lifelong journey of growth in relationship with God and one another.
Our Family of Parishes is committed to supporting adults at every stage of life as they seek to deepen their understanding, strengthen their faith, and live more fully as disciples of Jesus Christ. Through scripture studies, spiritual enrichment, community learning, and sacramental preparation, we offer a variety of opportunities to explore the richness of our Catholic tradition and respond to God’s call with joy and purpose. Whether you’re returning to the Church, seeking answers, or simply hungry to grow, there’s a place for you here.
Cross-Parish Offerings
Parish Libraries
Several parishes within the Family maintain an active library for parishioners to visit and use to deepen their understanding of their faith. There are thousands of titles in each library, ready for borrowing.
- At Precious Blood, the library is just off to the right of the church’s main entrance.
- At St. Paul, the library is located at the end of the hall to the left of the front entrance to the church, across from the parish offices.
- At Emmanuel, the library is located in the old school.
Stop by and check out the resources available to you.
Catholics Come Home
Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save it. It is never too late to receive God’s forgiveness, hope, and love. If you have been waiting for a sign, this is your chance to renew your relationship with God. Visit the Catholics Come Home website for more information.
Unity Events
St. Gaspar Family of Parishes offers programs throughout the year designed to bring everyone together for fellowship and sharing of our Catholic Faith. Watch the bulletin or the website for details regarding our next event!
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
OCIA is for adults seeking more information about the Catholic Church or persons seeking baptism or full communion with the Catholic Church. We meet on Thursdays from 5:30–7 p.m., from September to the Easter Vigil. Individuals who cannot make the Thursday time may also inquire about other arrangements for entry into the church.
Emmanuel
Miraculous Medal Novena
Holy hour includes Exposition, Benediction, Communion Service, and Miraculous Medal Novena in church every Tuesday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Exposition is at 7 p.m., and Benediction is at 7:30 p.m.
Natural Family Planning
The Couple to Couple League provides Natural Family Planning (NFP) training to married and engaged couples using the Sympto-Thermal Method of NFP, which is in accordance with Church teaching.
The Sympto-Thermal method of NFP is 99% effective in postponing pregnancy, in the same range as birth control pills. Additionally, NFP is healthy for marriages, as couples who practice NFP have a divorce rate of less than 5%. Pamphlets are available in the back of the church with contact information.
Holy Trinity
Lunch with the Lord
Lunch with the Lord meets on Wednesdays from 11:45 a.m.–1 p.m. We are a group of adults who study the following Sunday’s Gospel reading. This session is repeated on Saturdays at 9 a.m.
Precious Blood
Scripture Study Class
Periodically we offer scripture study classes — watch the bulletin or the events page for the announcement of those classes. Join in scripture discussion at Precious Blood Church on Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m. We meet in the Gaspar Room off of the Gathering Space.
Precious Blood Companions
This group of lay associates seeks to create a caring, compassionate community of love and service living out the Precious Blood spirituality. They gain strength and spiritual wisdom from the time spent at monthly Companion gatherings and through their connection with the Missionaries at community events. The Dayton group meets on the second Sunday of the month from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Precious Blood Church. For more information, contact John Hess – companions@preciousbloodchurch.org or Eileen Givens at companions.preciousblood@gmail.com .
