DESCRIPTION:OCIA stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. It is the process by which baptized Christians and unbaptized persons can learn more and join the Catholic Church. Three opportunities for OCIA will be available this year in the St. Gaspar family of parishes starting in September: \n\nHoly Trinity: Wednesdays at 11:45 am\, starting September 3\nSt. Paul: Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm\, starting September 3\nHoly Trinity: Sundays at 12:00 noon\, starting September 7\n\nEach group will be using the “Foundations of Faith: A Journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church” series from Ascension. Cost for the workbook and internet access to the videos is $40. Scholarships will be offered on an as-needed basis. \nJoin the Journey\, Become a Sponsor\nPersons from the parish are encouraged to become part of the lives of our initiates by becoming involved in OCIA. Why be a sponsor? Christ calls us to “go and make disciples of all nation.” Being an OCIA sponsor for someone on their journey to be fully initiated into the Church is a wonderful opportunity to answer Christ’s call. DESCRIPTION:Bring a dish to share and a donation for St. Vincent de Paul for the Solemnity of St. Joseph! \nEmmanuel will host a traditional St. Joseph’s Day table after the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday\, March 15. Blessed bread will be available for each family to take home. \nAccording to tradition\, during a famine brought on by a severe drought\, starving Italian villagers prayed to St. Joseph. The St. Joseph’s table was first celebrated in thanksgiving for their answered prayers and is now a shared celebration with the entire Catholic community. Traditionally\, Italian food is shared during this time of fellowship.

SUMMARY:St. Patrick's Day Mass at St. Joseph
DESCRIPTION:On St. Patrick’s Day\, noon Mass (festivities begin at 11:30 am) at St. Joseph will feature traditional Irish melodies sung by the choir. The processional and recessional will include a bagpiper\, the Knights of Columbus color guard\, and Irish dancers in traditional costume. \nThis special Mass is organized by the Ladies’ Ancient Order of Hibernians\, Mary of the Gael Division #1\, and the Men’s Ancient Order of Hibernians\, John F. Kennedy Division #1. The ladies will be selling green carnations and soda bread before and after Mass in support of LAOH missions and charities. \nCome celebrate faith\, heritage\, and community with us!

DESCRIPTION:OCIA stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. It is the process by which baptized Christians and unbaptized persons can learn more and join the Catholic Church. Three opportunities for OCIA will be available this year in the St. Gaspar family of parishes starting in September: \n\nHoly Trinity: Wednesdays at 11:45 am\, starting September 3\nSt. Paul: Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm\, starting September 3\nHoly Trinity: Sundays at 12:00 noon\, starting September 7\n\nEach group will be using the “Foundations of Faith: A Journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church” series from Ascension. Cost for the workbook and internet access to the videos is $40. Scholarships will be offered on an as-needed basis. \nJoin the Journey\, Become a Sponsor\nPersons from the parish are encouraged to become part of the lives of our initiates by becoming involved in OCIA. Why be a sponsor? Christ calls us to “go and make disciples of all nation.” Being an OCIA sponsor for someone on their journey to be fully initiated into the Church is a wonderful opportunity to answer Christ’s call. Additionally\, walking with someone learning about the Catholic faith is a great way to grow in your own faith.
