DESCRIPTION:OCIA stands for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. It is the process by which baptized Christians and unbaptized persons can learn more and join the Catholic Church. Three opportunities for OCIA will be available this year in the St. Gaspar family of parishes starting in September: \n\nHoly Trinity: Wednesdays at 11:45 am\, starting September 3\nSt. Paul: Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm\, starting September 3\nHoly Trinity: Sundays at 12:00 noon\, starting September 7\n\nEach group will be using the “Foundations of Faith: A Journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church” series from Ascension. Cost for the workbook and internet access to the videos is $40. Scholarships will be offered on an as-needed basis. \nJoin the Journey\, Become a Sponsor\nPersons from the parish are encouraged to become part of the lives of our initiates by becoming involved in OCIA. Why be a sponsor? Christ calls us to “go and make disciples of all nation.” Being an OCIA sponsor for someone on their journey to be fully initiated into the Church is a wonderful opportunity to answer Christ’s call. Additionally\, walking with someone learning about the Catholic faith is a great way to grow in your own faith. Three opportunities for OCIA will be available this year in the St. Gaspar family of parishes starting in September: \n\nHoly Trinity: Wednesdays at 11:45 am\, starting September 3\nSt. Paul: Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm\, starting September 3\nHoly Trinity: Sundays at 12:00 noon\, starting September 7\n\nEach group will be using the “Foundations of Faith: A Journey through the Catechism of the Catholic Church” series from Ascension. Cost for the workbook and internet access to the videos is $40. Scholarships will be offered on an as-needed basis. \nJoin the Journey\, Become a Sponsor\nPersons from the parish are encouraged to become part of the lives of our initiates by becoming involved in OCIA. Why be a sponsor? Christ calls us to “go and make disciples of all nation.” Being an OCIA sponsor for someone on their journey to be fully initiated into the Church is a wonderful opportunity to answer Christ’s call. Additionally\, walking with someone learning about the Catholic faith is a great way to grow in your own faith.
